Mine Training Society – Mineral Processor Operator Technician
The Mineral Processing Operator Technician program has been designed to qualify candidates for entry-level positions in the area of mineral processing. This program was designed based on the Core Competencies outlined in the Mineral Processing Technician Occupational Standards. The program is delivered in two phases. The first phase is a 12 week classroom and shop component that focuses on foundation skills for the Mineral Process Operator. The second component of the program is based on-site at an operational diamond mine.
This training-to-employment initiative’s main objectives are for participants to gain pre-employment skills training for specific employment. The program has been ongoing since 2005.
