Aboriginal Program for College Enrichment and Transition Program

Initiative Description: 

This is a transition program (formerly the Biindigen Studies Program ) prepares Aboriginal students for further studies at the college and university levels; it incorporates typical academic classes as well as preparation for trades and the Bachelor of Nursing program. The program supports the incorporation of Aboriginal perspectives into the curriculum content. Courses include cultural and social components and perspectives of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities as well as addressing all nine Essential Skills. The College strives to nurture academic, spiritual, physical, and emotional needs to help students achieve balance during their academic training and in other areas of their lives outside the College environment.
